2013 Press Release

Written by

2013, a year of growth, a year of opportunities and for Joan Madibeng, it was a year to deliver inspiration.
“Women…The Real Architects of Society” now in its third year of existence reached heights that even we did not expect to reach and achieve.
Real Architects of Society was proudly supported and sponsored by The Department of Arts and Culture and the City of Tshwane, who both shared our vision to empower and nurture South African women and the youth of our nation.

Bigger and better was the goal we had set out from the beginning, our aim was to grow the brand and leave a lasting mark in the minds and hearts of South Africans.
The 2013 conference gave rise to many opportunities, the first being a search for an opening act for the conference. In the past years Joan, has awarded underprivileged entertainers the opportunity to show off their skills and talents to an audience of a variety of women. This year we held auditions in Gauteng, Johannesburg- Baseline and Pretoria- State Theatre. The attendance was extremely overwhelming and the talent we discovered was top class. We selected five entertainers to award a platform on the day of the conference; three singers, a dance group and a storyteller. Aside from performing at the conference, the chosen individuals will go through a legacy programme. Through this legacy programme they will be paired with established artists who will guide, mentor and groom them as they embark on their journey in pursuit of their dreams.

2013 conference was nothing short of spectacular, sophisticated and empowering. This year’s line-up was powerful and mind enriching.

The line-up was as follows:

  • MC- Azania Mosaka
  • BUSINESS AND SKILLS- Herman Mashaba
  • FINANCE- Hannah Sadiki
  • REAL ARCHITECT OF SOCIETY- National Commissioner Of South African Police- Riah Phiyega

Prize give aways were sponsored by Russell Hobbs, Garnier, Jacobs Coffee, Ford, Demi Goddess, and Black like Me, Tsogo Sun, Sky events.
Our guests were not only entertained not only by the talent we discovered but also by the legendary likes of Loyiso Bala and Judith Sepuma.
“Women…The Real Architects of Society” 2013 was an event we pride ourselves with  and we hope to continue to grow, better the concept and especially to continue to reach out, touch peoples lives and make a difference.
